Analyze Literary and Cultural Perspectives
Learners read an original short story, «الباب الأزرق» (The Blue Door), about a family selling a grandmother's house by the sea, alongside a famous line by the tenth-century poet al-Mutanabbi and a traditional proverb. They analyse the narrator's point of view and how it changes, interpret imagery, simile, metaphor and symbol, explore the perspectives and values the characters express without generalising about whole cultures, and write a literary analysis paragraph with evidence and commentary.
