Greetings and Classroom Expressions
Children learn the French they can use every day: bonjour, salut, au revoir, bonsoir and bonne nuit; s'il te plaît, merci and de rien; and the classroom routine Comment tu t'appelles ? — Je m'appelle…, with Lève le doigt ! and Bravo ! Short scenes with Olly and his friends in Lyon and Dakar model each moment, and grown-ups turn the words into daily routines.
