Research, Quotation and Citation
Learners handle sources the way researchers do. Using a small set of invented sources about city street trees and one sentence from Darwin's On the Origin of Species, they decide when to quote, paraphrase or summarize; paraphrase without patchwriting; integrate sources with precise signal phrases; build MLA-style in-text citations and Works Cited entries from the core elements; and learn what counts as plagiarism, including undisclosed AI help. They finish with a cited paragraph and two Works Cited entries.
