Linear and Quadratic Models Revisited
Learners return to linear and quadratic models with Algebra II tools: piecewise-linear pricing, interpreting technology-produced lines of fit, vertex form by completing the square for maximum and minimum problems, linear–quadratic systems, and quadratic inequalities solved with sign analysis. An optional honors lesson fits a quadratic through three points with a system of three equations.

What learners will discover
- Build and interpret linear and piecewise-linear models, including lines of fit produced by technology.
- Rewrite quadratics in vertex form by completing the square and solve maximum and minimum problems in context.
- Solve linear–quadratic systems algebraically and graphically and interpret the number and meaning of the intersections.
- Solve quadratic inequalities using zeros and sign analysis, and interpret the solution intervals in context.
