Architecture and Modular Interfaces
Learners give their capstone a sound structure: layered architecture with separation of concerns, modules judged by cohesion and coupling, interfaces expressed as abstract base classes, and dependency injection so storage and clocks can be swapped for fakes in tests. They record significant choices in architecture decision records and weigh flexibility against unnecessary complexity.

What learners will discover
- Describe layered and client-server architectures and assign responsibilities to layers.
- Evaluate and improve modular designs using cohesion and coupling.
- Define interfaces and use dependency injection so components can be swapped and tested with fakes.
- Record architecture decisions with context, alternatives and consequences, and judge proportionate design.
