Shared Picture Stories and Cultural Contexts
Children share a picture story told in simple Spanish: Olly the owl travels to Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina and Spain and sees a volcano, a giant tortoise, a penguin and a castle. They follow the story by listening, retell it in order, learn the words for what Olly sees, and discover how birthdays and markets are part of everyday life in many Spanish-speaking places.
