What it is
A media lab for chart skeptics. Each case shows a chart built from fictional data that may use a truncated axis, uneven scale steps, a cherry-picked date range, 3D distortion or missing labels — or may be perfectly fair. Analysts name every problem, test headlines against the actual numbers and choose the fair redraw.
What children learn
Data and media literacy: how axis baselines, scale intervals, selected ranges, 3D effects and missing labels change impressions; separating what the numbers show from what the picture suggests; and checking numeric claims such as "more than twice as many" against the data.
What it teaches
- Choose fair charts and judge claims
- Evaluate charts and claims
- Read graphs
How to play
Toggle reasons on and off with the buttons (or drag reason cards onto the evidence board), then press Check. Pick the fair redraw or a verdict with the answer buttons. Show table opens the chart's data. Everything works with Tab, Enter and Space.
