What it is
Olly's weather box is a simplified, clearly labeled model: humidity decides whether clouds form and whether rain or snow falls, temperature decides rain or snow, and on the older track air pressure makes clouds form more or less easily and pushes wind from high to low pressure. Every experiment starts with a prediction, then the model runs and an overlay explains which rule made the result. Fair-test levels ask which single setting to change, and learners also read a thermometer, rain gauge, wind vane and barometer. The box is a teaching model, not a forecast: real weather depends on much more.
What children learn
Weather patterns and investigation skills: humidity, temperature and air pressure in a simple model of clouds, rain and snow; predicting before observing; fair tests that change one variable and keep the others the same; drawing conclusions only from fair comparisons; reading thermometers (including below zero), rain gauges, wind vanes and barometers; wind blowing from high toward low pressure.

How to play
Choose a prediction, then press Lock in and run. Set up Run 2 with the − and + buttons (or focus a setting and use the arrow keys). Past runs stay in the run list: select one to look back, or press Reset box. Type instrument readings in the box; ± makes a number negative. Everything works with Tab, Enter, Space and the arrow keys.
