Adaptation
Retold for PlayOwl in 2026 from Hans Christian Andersen's story. The telling keeps the plot: the false weavers, the cloth that nobody dares to say they cannot see, the procession and the child who speaks up. PlayOwl's changes: the Emperor walks out in long underclothes, he owns up to his mistake in front of the crowd, and the tricksters are caught and set to mending. The story was published in 1837 and Hans Christian Andersen died in 1875, so it is in the public domain everywhere. The retelling follows the events of the story itself. It was not worked from any English translation, and no translation's wording was copied.
