Compare People, Places and Perspectives

Learners compare two capitals of the Arabic-speaking world, Cairo and Muscat, and listen to two young people who love their own city for different reasons. They use the comparative pattern أَفْعَلُ مِنْ (أَكْبَرُ مِنْ), the superlative (أَكْبَرُ مَدِينَةٍ), words for similarity and difference (مِثْلَ، بَيْنَمَا، أَمَّا … فَـ), and opinion language (فِي رَأْيِي، أُفَضِّلُ … عَلَى …), and they learn to tell facts from opinions. This is the first Developing course with reduced vowel marks.
