My First French Mini-Book

The Explorer route ends with a project: each child makes a small picture book about themselves in French. Children listen to Camille's model book, learn the page sentences (Je m'appelle…, J'ai … ans, J'aime…, Ma couleur préférée, c'est le bleu, Voici mon papa, Voici ma maman), answer Olly's questions about a book, then draw, make and share their own mini-book with a grown-up.

  • Present family members on a page with Voici mon… and Voici ma… (mon papa, ma maman, mon frère, ma sœur), noticing mon and ma.
  • Plan, make and share a mini-book: put its pages in order and answer Comment tu t'appelles ?, Tu as quel âge ? and Tu aimes… ? in a picture dialogue.
