A Research-Based Writing Portfolio
The Grade 10 capstone brings research and writing together around one invented local question: should Riverside High turn part of its parking lot into a community garden? Learners plan a research project, synthesize five sources into an argument with MLA citations, revise a draft for coherence and citation accuracy, and reflect on their process while selecting portfolio work. An optional Going further lesson reconciles two sources whose data conflict and builds a qualified claim.
