Practical, Academic and Professional Writing
Learners write for life beyond the classroom. They adapt purpose, audience and format across emails, memos, cover letters and résumés written for fictional people; apply plain-language principles such as putting the point first, using headings and lists and preferring active voice; write a personal statement that combines a specific story with reflection in an authentic voice; and learn the academic genres of the abstract and the proposal.
