Support an Opinion with Reasons
Grade 3 writers build opinion pieces that persuade. Using a model letter, A Splash Pad for Riverside Park, they introduce a topic and state a clear opinion, organise reasons in a logical order, support each reason with facts, details or examples, connect ideas with linking words such as because, therefore, since and for example, and end with a strong concluding statement.
