Explain and Support an Opinion
Children learn to write opinion pieces that introduce a topic or a book, state an opinion clearly, support it with reasons (and an example for each), connect ideas with linking words such as because, also and another reason, and finish with a concluding sentence. They also learn to tell facts from opinions and strong reasons from weak ones.
