Continents, Oceans and Global Regions

Learners revisit the seven continents and five oceans and order them by real area, then compare where the world's eight billion people live: more than half in Asia, the next-largest share in Africa, and no permanent residents in Antarctica. They learn that world regions such as Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia are groupings people make for a purpose, that atlases draw them differently, and they locate the regions and example countries on the world map.
