Geography · Grade 6
Physical Systems and Landforms
Learners discover the two sets of forces that shape Earth's surface: moving tectonic plates that build mountains, volcanoes and trenches, and weathering, erosion and deposition that wear the land down and rebuild it elsewhere. They follow a river from source to mouth, then read maps and elevation profiles to explain real landscapes from Iceland to the Himalaya and the Andes.

- Landforms check: 10 questions
- Ways to answer: choose an answer, estimate, highlight a text, pin a map, pick map regions and match pairs
What learners will discover
- Describe Earth's layers and explain how plates moving apart, together or past each other create ridges, rift valleys, mountains, volcanoes and trenches.
- Explain weathering, erosion and deposition, and identify whether water, ice, wind or waves shaped a landform.
- Trace a river from source to mouth and explain the landforms and gradient changes along its course.
- Locate major landforms on a world map and use maps and elevation profiles to explain a landscape.
