Design and Present a Digital Solution

In this project course, learners take a real-feeling client brief from the Cedar Valley Community Garden through the whole design process: understanding the users, defining the problem, writing testable requirements, choosing an idea, sketching a wireframe and user flow, testing with users and improving the design, and finally presenting it with evidence, honest limitations and next steps. The course ends with a teacher-reviewed presentation plan.

  • 5 lessons
  • About 120 minutes
  • Design project check: 10 questions
  • Ways to answer: choose an answer, highlight a text, match pairs, type a number, put in order and sort into groups

What learners will discover

  • Describe the stages of the design process and turn a client brief into a problem statement focused on users' needs.
  • Write testable requirements, separate must-haves from nice-to-haves, and choose among ideas using weighted criteria.
  • Plan a low-fidelity prototype (a wireframe and user flow) that meets the requirements, including accessibility and privacy.
  • Test a prototype with users, record observations as evidence, and prioritize changes for the next version.
  • Present a solution with a clear structure: problem, solution, evidence from testing, limitations and next steps.
