Spreadsheets and Decision Models
Learners use spreadsheets to help make decisions. They write IF formulas that choose between results, use absolute references so one input cell can feed a whole column, build a budget model for a fictional club trip and run what-if tests, and compare options with a weighted decision matrix. The course ends by examining a model's assumptions and why its output is an estimate, not a fact.

- About 115 minutes
- Decision models check: 10 questions
- Ways to answer: fill in the blanks, choose an answer, trace code, highlight a text, type a number and put in order
What learners will discover
- Write and evaluate IF formulas that use comparisons, including boundary values.
- Explain relative and absolute references and predict how a formula changes when it is filled down.
- Build and use a budget model with separate input cells, and run what-if analysis by changing inputs.
- Use a weighted decision matrix (score × weight, then sum) to compare options.
- Identify a model's assumptions and limits and explain why its output is an estimate, not a fact.
