Research with Multiple Credible Sources
Learners research how rain gardens help reduce flooding using five fictional sources that agree, disagree and sometimes repeat each other. They generate focused follow-up questions and use advanced search strategies, corroborate facts across independent credible sources and trace conflicting claims to their origin, organize notes in a synthesis matrix while paraphrasing honestly, and cite sources with in-text citations and a works-cited list.
