Investigate Cultural Contexts with Sources
Learners investigate a cultural question with several sources instead of one: how and when people eat their main meals in Spain and Mexico, and what the sobremesa (lingering at the table to talk) means. They move beyond stereotypes to diversity and change over time, judge sources for perspective and bias (an encyclopedia-style article, a grandmother in Oaxaca, a tourist's exaggerated blog, a clearly labeled fictional survey), synthesize them with citations, and write a short investigation report.
