What it is
Pick a hero, then place goals, things to collect, obstacles, walls and movers on a grid stage. Give your game rules with blocks: WHEN the hero touches a star, THEN add 1 to the score; WHEN the score is 5, WIN; EVERY 2 seconds, MOVE the ghost. Test-play it with the arrow keys or by tapping. Before a game can be marked ready to share, Olly's test player checks that it can really be won and explains anything to fix. Rules are building blocks, not typed code, and nothing is graded: guided projects offer ideas with a gentle checklist.
What children learn
Event-driven thinking: events (when something happens), conditions (only if), repetition (every few seconds and repeat blocks) and variables (score, lives and a timer), plus testing and debugging a design until it works.
