What it is

Pond friends sit on a row of lily pads in a pattern, and some pads are empty. Children place the missing frogs, fish, ducks and flowers to finish it. Patterns start as simple AB rows and move on to ABC, AABB and patterns with gaps in the middle. In the older track, patterns grow a little at every step.

What children learn

Builds the habit of finding the unit that repeats, extending and completing repeating patterns (AB, ABC, AAB, AABB, ABCD), and describing how growing patterns change from step to step: early algebraic thinking.

How to play

Drag a pond friend from the tray onto an empty pad, or tap a friend and then tap the pad. Tap a filled pad to clear it. Press Check when every pad is full. Keyboard: Tab to a friend, Enter to pick it, arrow keys to choose a pad, Enter to place it.
