What it is
In Olly's workshop, work orders arrive as numerals, words and expanded form. Children build each number on a place-value mat with tens rods and ones cubes, and later hundreds flats. A column only holds so many pieces before a trade is due, so adding and taking away means trading ten ones for a ten or breaking a ten into ten ones.
What children learn
Builds understanding of tens and ones (and hundreds) as units, reading numbers in standard, word and expanded form, ten more and ten less, and regrouping when adding and subtracting.

How to play
Drag rods and cubes from the bins onto the mat, or tap the + and − buttons in each column. Use Trade and Break to regroup. Press Done when the number is built. Keyboard: every button can be reached with Tab and pressed with Enter.
