What it is

Olly's potion shelf has got all mixed up. Pick up a tube and pour its top potion onto the same color or into an empty tube, until every tube is filled with a single color. Every puzzle is checked by a computer search that proves it can be sorted and finds the fewest pours, so the star target is always fair. Each potion has its own symbol as well as its color, and take-backs are always allowed.

What children learn

Planning and sequencing: thinking several pours ahead, using empty tubes as temporary storage, choosing an order of sub-goals (finish one color first), noticing when a move blocks the way, and undoing a plan that doesn't work.

How to play

Tap or click a tube to pick it up, then tap the tube to pour into (tap it again to put it down). Keyboard: Left and Right arrows choose a tube, Enter or Space picks up and pours, Escape puts it down, U takes back a pour and R restarts.
