How to Draw a Bunny Face
- Easy (level 2 of 5)
- 10 min
- 10 steps
- Ages 5–9 (a guide, not a rule)
Draw on paper: Paper, Pencil. Optional: Eraser, Gray and pink crayons or markers.
Draw it on the screen
This lesson draws a bunny's face: a wide, round head, two long ears standing tall, and a face placed with two light guide lines. Bunnies have their eyes far apart, a tiny nose and two big front teeth. It is a face lesson, not a whole animal. When you are ready for a full body, try the Sitting Cat or Standing Dog lessons next.

Tips for this drawing
Helpful hints
- Leave plenty of room above the head for the tall ears. Start the head in the lower half of your paper.
- Bunny eyes sit far apart, near the sides of the face. That is part of what makes it look like a bunny.
- Try a floppy-eared bunny: bend one ear over at the top so it hangs down.
Common mistakes
- The ears are short and round, so it looks like a mouse or a bear. Make each ear about as tall as the head, long and narrow.
- The ear lines go into the face. Stop each ear line where it touches the top of the head.
Make it simpler
Skip the guides and teeth: draw the head, two long ears, two dot eyes, a nose and whiskers.
Face guide lines
A light line down the middle and one across show where the face goes. The eyes sit on the line across, far apart, and the nose, mouth and teeth sit on the middle line.
