Mission 7
Rescue the Garden
Behind an old brick wall is a garden nobody has watered in a long time. The neighbors want it back. Give the thirsty plants a drink, give every seed room to grow, find each plant the sun or shade it likes, and make the rain barrel last. Then watch the garden turn green.

For grown-ups: what this mission practices
One-to-one matching and counting to a number, spacing by counting squares, comparing sun hours in a small table, measuring and multiplying in liters, planning on a grid where shadows fall north, working inside a water budget, and turning millimeters of rain into liters. Older children compare ways of watering and justify a change of plan.
- Ages
- Five versions, from Preschool to Grade 8. They are different designs, not the same task with other numbers.
- How it is checked
- Every answer is checked by rules the child can see at work on the screen. Any answer that meets them is right.
- Help
- Olly can read any line aloud, give a hint that points at where to look, or show one way. A report says where help was used.
- Time
- Nothing is timed. A part takes a few minutes and progress is saved after each one for a signed-in child.
