Tracing Worksheets for Kids

Tracing builds the small-muscle control that handwriting needs. Each row starts with a dark model, then gray copies to trace over, then space to write alone, so children copy the shape several times before trying it without help. The three-line guides show where tall letters reach and where tails drop below the line.

The youngest children start with numbers and capital and lowercase letters. Later sheets trace whole words: sight words, spelling patterns such as magic e, and topic words from science and social studies.
