Water and Land on Models

Learners name the shapes of land (mountains, hills, valleys, plains, islands) and bodies of water (oceans, lakes, rivers, ponds), label them on a model, and read maps as flat models of Earth, finding oceans on a world map. Then they discover where Earth's water is: almost all of it in the salty oceans, some frozen as ice and snow, and only a little as liquid fresh water.
