Multiply Multi-Digit Numbers
Learners use multiplication to compare amounts ('5 times as many'), multiply numbers up to four digits by a one-digit number, and multiply two two-digit numbers. Area models and partial products built on place value show why each method works, and estimates help learners judge whether a product is reasonable.
