Geography · Grade 6
Climate Zones and Biomes
Learners separate weather from climate, read climographs, and investigate the controls that make places hot or cold, wet or dry: latitude, altitude, distance from the sea, ocean currents, winds and mountains. They classify climates with a simplified Köppen key and connect each climate to the biome that grows there, locating rainforests, deserts and boreal forests on the world map.
