Regions of the Eastern Hemisphere
What makes a region, and who decides where it ends? Learners meet formal, functional and perceptual regions, then tour the regions of Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania, comparing them with physical and human evidence such as landforms, climate, population and age. They finish by tracing the routes that connect these regions, from the Silk Roads and monsoon winds to the Suez Canal and the Strait of Malacca.
