Materials for a Purpose
Children describe materials by their properties (strong, bendy, waterproof, soft, see-through) and explain why things are made of the materials they are: windows of glass, boots of rubber, pillows of soft cloth. Then they test paper, foil and cardboard as a bridge for toy animals, count how many blocks each holds, and choose the best material using the data.
