Pushes, Pulls and Ramps
Children sort everyday actions into pushes (away from you) and pulls (toward you). With a ramp simulation and a real ramp, they find that a higher ramp sends a toy car farther, then run their first fair test: same ramp, same car, only the floor changes, and the bumpy carpet stops the car sooner than smooth wood.

What learners will discover
- Tell a push (moving something away) from a pull (moving something toward you).
- Predict and compare how the height of a ramp changes how far a toy car rolls.
- Compare a smooth floor with a bumpy floor in a fair test that changes only one thing.
