Sustain and Repair an Interpersonal Exchange
Learners develop the strategies of an advanced conversational partner: repairing their own and others' breakdowns (quise decir…, o sea…, ¿te refieres a…?), resolving misunderstandings caused by regional vocabulary and register (ahorita, guagua, pena; ¿nos tuteamos?), sustaining an exchange by elaborating and linking to what the other person said, and handling a simulated conversation and a formal email exchange of the kind used in advanced assessments. Everything is tapped, chosen or typed; optional spoken practice is never machine-scored.
