Mission 23

The Mountain Supply Run

Thimble Hut opens soon, and everything it needs has to walk up the mountain: bread, water, stove fuel, even the firewood. Help Dawa the guide and Pepper the mule pack fair loads, choose the safe path, and plan a day that ends at the hut door long before dark.

For grown-ups: what this mission practices

Sorting by need, sharing and adding loads to a limit, and planning a route on a map. Older children turn kilometers and meters of climb into walking time with a stated rule, fit a day inside daylight, work out supplies per person per day, put safety before speed, and justify a change of plan when the weather report changes.

Ages
Five versions, from Preschool to Grade 8. They are different designs, not the same task with other numbers.
How it is checked
Every answer is checked by rules the child can see at work on the screen. Any answer that meets them is right.
Help
Olly can read any line aloud, give a hint that points at where to look, or show one way. A report says where help was used.
Time
Nothing is timed. A part takes a few minutes and progress is saved after each one for a signed-in child.
