Mission 10
The Railway Schedule
Everybody on the Little Valley Railway has somewhere to be. Match a ticket to its train, read the station clock and the timetable, and choose trains that connect, so that Tavi reaches Grandpa, the honey reaches the fair and Noor arrives on time, even on a morning when a train runs late.

For grown-ups: what this mission practices
Matching by color and shape, putting a day in order, telling time to the hour and to five minutes, reading a timetable, and working out elapsed time across the hour. Older children plan journeys with one and two changes, add up waits and fares, and compare alternatives on time, changes and cost when a train is late or a line is closed, then justify the choice.
- Ages
- Five versions, from Preschool to Grade 8. They are different designs, not the same task with other numbers.
- How it is checked
- Every answer is checked by rules the child can see at work on the screen. Any answer that meets them is right.
- Help
- Olly can read any line aloud, give a hint that points at where to look, or show one way. A report says where help was used.
- Time
- Nothing is timed. A part takes a few minutes and progress is saved after each one for a signed-in child.
