A Guided French Story Project

The Foundation route ends with a creative project: learners write their own short story in French. They read a model story, Jour de neige à Moncton, and find its characters, setting, problem and solution; link events with d'abord, ensuite, puis, tout à coup, alors, enfin, et, mais and parce que; write accurate present-tense story sentences with être and avoir for descriptions and feelings (Zoé est triste, elle a froid), -er verbs, aller and faire, and dialogue in « » or with dashes; and finally plan, draft and revise a story for a class collection.

  • 4 lessons
  • About 110 minutes
  • Story project check: 9 questions
  • Ways to answer: fill in the blanks, choose an answer, highlight a text, match pairs, put in order and sort into groups
