Vibration and Sound
Learners twang a ruler, stretch rubber bands and watch rice jump on a plastic-wrap drum to gather evidence that vibrating materials make sound and that sound can make materials vibrate. A string simulation shows how shorter or tighter strings vibrate faster and sound higher, and a harder pluck makes a louder sound.
