Volume of Rectangular Prisms
Learners measure volume by packing unit cubes in layers, connect layers to the formulas V = l × w × h and V = B × h, and find the volume of solids made of two rectangular prisms. The course ends with boxes, sandboxes and aquariums, including finding a missing dimension and converting cubic centimeters to liters.

What learners will discover
- Explain volume as the number of unit cubes that fill a solid without gaps or overlaps, and find it by counting cubes in layers.
- Find the volume of a rectangular prism with V = l × w × h and V = B × h, and explain how the formulas match the layers.
- Find the volume of a solid made of two non-overlapping rectangular prisms by adding their volumes.
- Solve real-world volume problems, including finding a missing dimension.
