Geography · Grade 7
Culture, Language and Regional Identity
Learners read culture in the landscape — signs, buildings, fields and food — then map how the world's roughly 7,000 languages and its major belief systems are distributed and how they spread through migration, trade, empire and technology. They finish by exploring regional identity: how mountains, oceans, history and language combine to give places such as Switzerland, Papua New Guinea and Polynesia their character.
