Interpret Authentic-Style Adapted Texts

Learners read the kinds of texts people meet in daily life in the francophone world: news briefs, recipes, infographics, adverts, leaflets, social media posts and notices. They identify each text's type, audience and purpose; follow recipe instructions in the infinitive or the vous imperative with quantities and the partitive; read percentages; separate facts from opinions and persuasive claims; and describe the products, practices and perspectives behind la Chandeleur, attiéké in Abidjan and the cabane à sucre in Québec, comparing them respectfully with their own community.
