Grade 1 · Story
Our Class Pet
A classroom. A teacher with light brown skin and a dark bun, in a yellow cardigan and trousers, kneels beside a small cage with a golden hamster. A boy with olive skin, short black hair and glasses, in a plain red top, reaches for it with a grin. Behind him, a girl of six with fair skin and curly red hair, in a green dress, looks down at her shoes.
Every Friday, one of us takes Nibbles the hamster home. I hoped it was my turn at last.
