Grade 4 · Science
Why We See Rainbows
A science diagram of one raindrop drawn very large, as a pale blue circle labeled "raindrop". A white arrow labeled "sunlight" comes in from the left and bends as it enters ("light bends"), crosses to the back of the drop, bounces off the back ("light bounces") and comes out again as a fan of colored lines from "red" to "violet".
After a summer storm, the Sun peeks through the clouds. A band of color arches across the sky. A rainbow can seem like magic, but it is really sunlight and raindrops working together.
