Preschool Reading Worksheets
Preschool reading starts with listening and talking. Children hear stories read aloud and retell them, notice rhymes and the first sounds in words, learn that print carries meaning, and begin to recognize letters, especially the ones in their own name. Songs, picture books and naming games build the vocabulary that later reading depends on. Preschoolers practice listening for rhymes, joining in with repeated lines, and naming the letters and sounds that matter most to them. Every preschool reading worksheet below is a free PDF to print on US Letter or A4 and do together at the table, many with a low-ink version.
