Your Heart, a Hardworking Pump
A simple, flat drawing of a heart cut open from the front, as a doctor's chart shows it, so the heart's right side is on the viewer's left. Four chambers are labeled "right atrium" and "left atrium" at the top and "right ventricle" and "left ventricle" below. A wall labeled "wall of muscle" runs down the middle. Small flaps are labeled "valve".
Make a fist. Your heart is about that size, and it sits in the middle of your chest, tipped a little to the left. It is a strong muscle, and its job is to pump blood through your whole body.
