Pre-K Reading Games
Pre-K reading starts with listening and talking. Children hear stories read aloud and retell them, notice rhymes and the first sounds in words, learn that print carries meaning, and begin to recognize letters, especially the ones in their own name. Songs, picture books and naming games build the vocabulary that later reading depends on. In pre-K, children work toward naming most capital and small letters, hearing the first sound in a word, and clapping the syllables in their name. The pre-K reading games below are made for little hands: big pictures, spoken directions and nothing to read, with free levels to play right away and no ads.
